CAP Grant Workshops
For those interested in applying for Cycle 18 CAP Grants, the City of San Jose is holding optional workshops to answer questions and review the CAP rules, requirements, and application process. The three workshops offered are identical in content. If you are unable to attend, the presentation slides can be mailed or emailed to you (after May 12).

Please call 277.4971 or 277.3707 to sign up for a workshop or request the presentation materials.

Coyote Valley Specific Plan
A community meeting to discuss the Coyote Valley Specific Plan will be held Saturday, March 13 between 8:30 am and 3 pm at the Southside Community Center 555 Cottle Road. The meeting will include a bus tour of the plan area, Please RSVP Sal Yakubu at 408-277-4576. See www.ci.san-jose.ca.us/coyotevalley for more information. This proposed project will include 50,000 jobs and 25,000 new homes and will significantly affect the Southern Santa Clara area especially South San Jose and Morgan Hill.

Candidates' Night for Assembly District 23
UNSCC, Berryessa Citizens Advisory Council and the Asian Law Alliance are co-sponsoring a Candidates' Night for Assembly District 23. Manny Diaz will be replaced by Joe Coto, Patricia Martinez-Roach, Khanh Tran, Mark Patrosso, Warner Bloomberg III, or Kathy Chavez Napoli. All have committed except Khanh, who will send a spokesman.

When:
The debate will be held Monday, February 9 from 7:30-9:00.

Where:
Berryessa Community Center
3050 Berryessa Road
San Jose.

The new voting machines are expected to be there at 7:00 and refreshments afterwards.
