Insurance Coverage - Commercial group Liability coverage
| | UNSCC
offers member organizations in "good standing" routine meeting
commercial liability insurance
coverage for member-only Board of Director and General Member meetings
that do not serve food or beverages as a membership benefit.
All member
associations MUST submit a Request for routine meeting insurance
coverage by July 1 each year, covering the next 12 months of routine
meetings so that we have an accurate listing to renewal our insurance
policy for the next 12 months. There is NO insurance coverage of any
type offered by UNSCC,
UNLESS you submit an accurate and complete UNSCC insurance requests on
a timely basis and your request/s are approved prior to the
meeting or event
If you have questions, please contact Ken Podgorsek at insurance@unscc.org or call him at 408-981-3833 at least 45 days
prior to the required deadline date ( date when you need to furnish
proof of insurance coverage for the facility or your actual event date
) or if you have not received your coverage conformation 10 days prior
to the required date or actual event or meeting date
All other
events or activities require an Special Event insurance policy endorsement and/or
any additional insurance premium costs will be billed to your member organizations
by UNSCC.
|
| | Additional
member event insurance costs in 2004 have generally been $100-250 per
event, but could be higher substantially higher baseed on number of
attendees, non member public attendence, or you have higher risk
activities .
Actual additional insurance policy estimated costs are NOT
available from our broker but we can estimate your billable special
event insurance cost based on past events. Our insurance costs
for like type coverage when compared to other insurance companies have
been lower with greater coverage and many times the type of coverage
our policy has is not available.
|
| | All insurance requests must be submitted on UNSCC Meeting and Event Insurance Request Form (Word doc 35K) and are due by the 1st of the month ( so Board can
review ) - at least 45 days or more prior to the event.
Requests should be sent by Email ONLY to insurance@unscc.org( email at any other email address will delay processing ) and need adequate review time by our Board and insurance underwriter
for completeness, policy coverage, and if there will be additional
billable premium costs. Late requests will be subject to a $100 late
fee and / or maybe declined.
To receive insurance coverage from
UNSCC, you MUST - 1) have your Officers or Directors
who have attended our Insurance and Risk Management workshop within the
last 12 months of the event or meeting 2) submit a complete insurance
request form on a timely basis and 3) the Request is must be reviewed
and approved by UNSCC's Borad and our insurance company underwriter
prior to the actual meeting or event occuring. There is a Board required waiting time and training before new associations can request special event insurance coverage.
We have these requirement so that we can have safe meeting and events
and continue to offer low cost meeting and special event
commercial group liability insirance coverage to our member
associations.
UNSCC does not offer ANY other type of insurance coverage, but if
enought members are interested and we have sufficcieent
volunteers to research and administe, the Board would consider offering additional types of group insurance
